SS. Cosmas and Damian Orthodox Community of Denver
About Us
SS. Cosmas and Damian Orthodox Community of Denver exists to bring the ancient, living faith of the Orthodox Church to people seeking Christ in the Denver area. Rooted in the spiritual heritage of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, we are committed to preserving the fullness of Orthodox worship, teaching, and pastoral care while making it accessible to those encountering it for the first time.
Our community is in its early stages, gathering around prayer, teaching, and fellowship as we work toward establishing a stable parish presence. We welcome inquirers, catechumens, and lifelong Orthodox Christians alike, especially those searching for a deeper, more grounded experience of the Christian life.
We place a strong emphasis on the integration of spiritual life and personal healing. Through services, classes, and conversation, we aim to offer not only theological formation, but also a path toward inner transformation, drawing on the wisdom of the Orthodox tradition in addressing anxiety, suffering, and the search for meaning.
Our worship follows the traditional liturgical life of the Orthodox Church, centered on the cycle of services and the sacramental life.
Whether through prayer services, catechesis, or special events, we seek to create a reverent and welcoming environment where people can encounter God and grow in communion with Him.
As a mission community, we are actively building toward a stable and vibrant parish. We invite you to join us in this work, whether by attending a service, participating in a class, or simply reaching out for a conversation.
The mission is led by Fr. Basil Balke, a Priest of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the USA, who provides liturgical leadership, teaching, and pastoral guidance for the community.
